Welcome to VEx – The Vietnam Experience®, where the flavors, culture, and hospitality of Vietnam come to life in the heart of Forest Grove, Oregon.
Founded by Executive Chef Yen, a native of Ho Chi Minh City, VEx was created to share the food, traditions, and spirit of Vietnam with our community. Our vision is simple: honor tradition while embracing creativity, offering guests an experience that is both authentic and uniquely our own.
Our menu is inspired by the vibrant street food culture, regional specialties, and family recipes that define Vietnamese cuisine. From comforting bowls of phở and rich, slow-simmered broths to fresh herbs, bold flavors, and handcrafted cocktails, every item is prepared with care and a commitment to quality. We believe great food begins with great ingredients, and we strive to showcase the everyday flavors that have brought people together in Vietnam for generations.
Housed in a historic downtown Forest Grove, VEx was built around creativity and resourcefulness. Rather than relying on a traditional restaurant kitchen, we carefully craft our menu using specialized cooking methods and equipment that allow us to prepare fresh, flavorful Vietnamese dishes while honoring the character and history of our space.
Beyond the food, VEx is a gathering place. Whether you’re joining us for a family dinner, a casual lunch, a night out with friends, or an exploration of our curated spirits and cocktail program, our goal is to create memorable experiences through genuine hospitality. We are women-owned, veteran-owned, and rooted in the local community.
I’m Yen, and I’ve called Forest Grove home since 2022. My passion has always been simple and sincere: to share culture, tell stories through food, and serve dishes that are comforting, vibrant, and full of heart.
This isn’t just about what’s on the menu. It’s about hospitality, connection, and creating a space that feels warm, intentional, and welcoming.
